I was appointed as a consultant cardiologist to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in 2013. I qualified from Guys and St Thomas’s medical school in 1998 with an additional BSc in physiology. I also have a research degree in stem cell biology and was awarded a PhD by the University of London in 2010. I trained in cardiology at the Royal London Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital, London Chest Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital specialising in heart rhythm disorders.
Currently I am the lead for electrophysiology for the department of cardiology at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. I work alongside a team of nurses, cardiac physiologists and consultant cardiologists delivering all aspects of care for heart rhythm disorders.
At the Royal Devon and Exeter we implant all forms of cardiac devices (reveal implants, pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation therapy). We also perform simple and complex catheter ablation procedures.
I run outpatient clinics every Tuesday morning and I perform catheter ablations every week at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
